Fun in the Snow!

Your wilderness base at the edge of Oulanka National Park is a truly spectacular setting for this fun filled holiday. Your traditional log farmhouse accommodation is veiled by deep forest and tucked away in the beautiful Finnish countryside. Only reached by winding country tracks, it really is in the middle of nowhere - the perfect place for relaxation and adventure, Finnish style! During your stay you’ll have plenty of time to build igloos and have snowball fights! You can also try ice fishing, or walk to the summit of Ukko Koli for Finland's most famous view over icy Lake Pielinen. If you're lucky, and the night sky is clear, then you may glimpse the magical Northern Lights

Snowshoeing & Cross-country Skiing

Snowshoeing is great fun and a fantastic way to get off the beaten track for a close look at the surroundings of Oulanka National Park. once you've got to grips with them, you have the afternoon to explore. You’ll also head onto Lake Pielinen to do some cross-country skiing and maybe explore the delightful Karelian village of Vuonislahti.

Husky Dog-sledding

A highlight of the week will certainly be time on the husky farm and playing with the puppies. Learn how to harness your dog team and handle the sled, then it's off through pristine wooded wilderness only hearing the crisp snow crackle and the odd bark from the dogs as you go.
