pleasantly surprised by my holiday in Tunisia

the unexpected quality of the Roman ruins and Berber pizza

[least enjoyed] not being told ahead of time that the Lizard Train hadn't been running in over a year, the disappointing stop for the Star Wars set, too many meals in hotel restaurants rather than local restaurants - which were also more expensive

I was overall very pleasantly surprised by my holiday in Tunisia. Our guide was very knowledgeable and tried to adjust the flow of the holiday to our much younger than usual group. One member of our trip had booked a private pick up on the last day because she had a flight out to Hong Kong that afternoon and she thought she paid for this for the day. Instead we were asked if we wouldn't mind getting up early so she could join us for the morning and then her driver would collect us around noon. We then ended up leaving a beautiful Roman site and wait in a hotel bar for an hour because that's where her driver collected her instead of him collecting her from the ruins. then the meal was very expensive for what it was. this was on the last day of travelling so a bit of a bad taste was left with all of us.

I would prefer hotels to be a bit closer to things to do at night, even if that is just to walk around the town at night (I wasn't looking for bars or clubs). I don't enjoy feeling trapped in my hotel room. Generally this wasn't too bad, though a few felt a bit farther than might have been possible.

He was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
