Walking in the French Pyrenees
Transport - Minibus, on foot.
Accommodation - Hotel (7 nts)
Meals - 7 breakfasts, 5 packed lunches and 6 dinners.
Based in acomfortable family-run hotel overlooking the flowing waters of the Ariege River in the charming French spa town of Ax-Les-Thermes, a flexible programme of five daywalks will include the summits and ridges of the lower hills, as well as forays into the high peaks, towards glacial lakes and more rugged terrain.

Ax-les-Thermes
Once the gateway to one of the easiest passes over the Pyrenees, Ax-les-Thermes has been an important town as far back as Roman times. Renowned for its thermal waters, this pretty town makes a great base.
Walking in the Pyrenees
A variety of day walks gives you the opportunity to visit the eastern Pyrenees and walk in this incredible mountain scenery. Walk through high meadows with herds of 'mouflon', or enjoy views of rugged granite peaks
Rugged Mountain Terrain
Although these are day walks on your visit to the Pyrenees, the surrounding mountains can present a great selection of terrain. The pyramidal peak of the Etang Noir towers over the region, and the pilgrimmage site of the Chapel of St Barthelemy is part of a beautiful walking route.
