French Moroccan School Group Holiday

Transport - Charter bus, on foot.
Accommodation - Hotel/hostel (5nts).
Meals - All meals whilst in country.
French / English speaking guide throughout.
1 free teacher place per 10 paying students.
Morocco is a wonderful destination for students; offering fascinating, diverse culture and beautiful landscapes. French is Morocco’s unofficial second language; it is taught universally and is widely used throughout the country. This brilliant combination makes Morocco an original, exciting and educational destination for French students.
Pupils experience total immersion into the village life where French will be their only means of communicating. They will join the berber students and their families in the fields and learn about farming techniques and irrigation. If there is any harvesting or threshing going on they can join in and have a go if they would like to. They will be welcomed into the family homes and shown a tea ceremony as well as given the chance to try other domestic work such as weaving or milking cows.

Local stay in the Bougmez valley where French is widely spoken and English isn’t generally known
The Bougmez Valley is a rugged and picturesque area set at the base of the High Atlas Mountains. Often referred to as “Morocco’s best-kept secret” as it is not on the standard tourist route, it is an incredibly beautiful area, inhabited by friendly berber people. We believe this area is perfect for our French education tour; it is a place of outstanding beauty that is a pleasure to explore and you will be warmly welcomed by people who speak French and do not generally speak English.
Close contact with French speaking students, lesson with a local teacher and immersion into village life.
The local Berber people who live in the Bourmez Valley are the reason this French education trip is so unique and special. It is the friendly disposition of the locals that gives this area its nickname the “Happy Valley”. They are kind, hospitable people who will be delighted to welcome you into their lives.
We aim to give your pupils total immersion into the village life where French will be their only means of communicating.
Where possible we will also arrange an afternoon French lesson with a local teacher. They will of course also be invited to join in with the fun side of village life, such as football, dancing, kite making, sketching, weaving or jewellery making.
Walks in spectacular scenery with French speaking guide
To give your students the chance to stretch their legs and explore this beautiful area your bilingual guide will take you on two gentle walks. The first is up the spectacular conic hill of Timit to visit Sidi Moussa a shrine and circular granary used by locals to store grain. There you will get a chance to marvel at the breathtaking views from the top. Our second walk is to the village of Aguerd n'Ouzrou.where the ground is marked with dinosaur footprints. These walks can of course be conducted in French if you would like and the berber students will sometimes accompany you.
Vibrant Marrakech; practise your French in the Souks
You finish your trip in Marrakech; a vibrant and exciting city. Culturally it feels very different with the call to prayer ringing out over the city and the unique skyline dotted with towering minarets. The highlight of the city is the lively bazaar and the colorful main square: the Djemaa el-Fna. As French is widely spoken by all why not give your students the challenge of sharpening their bartering skills whilst practicing their French?
