Hands On Adventure
Hands On Adventures combine our special blend of adventure and discovery with an opportunity to ‘lend a hand’ to a local project for an enriching experience. These adventures allow you to contribute to conservation of the natural environment and/or cultural heritage by getting a behind the scenes look at one of our carefully selected local projects.
Project Details
One of the inevitable highlights on this trip will be getting ‘hands on’ with some project work helping to upgrade facilities at a school for hearing and speech impaired children in Nuwakot. Each day you can expect to get stuck in to a variety of tasks from painting and decorating to basic carpentry. The specific project will be selected to be suitable for the group but will also meet the current needs of the school and its students. No previous experience is assumed, however, a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in is essential! Your contribution here will create a more comfortable environment for learning and living for the students here.
The Trisuli Centre
This is the employment-creating ‘whitewater’ base of The Trisuli Centre, well-placed for rafting adventures, with the Tented Camp of Big Fig Beach on the far bank. It is also where you can meet, interact and help motivate members of the Trisuli Young Leaders Club – a youth club supported by The Adventure Company, which offers young people the opportunity to learn life skills. This energetic group of people may become the next generation of group leaders.
Whitewater Rafting
Plenty of gentle drifting sections are punctuated by big bouncy waves, hefty holes, and tricky chutes all go towards making an exhilarating ride to remember with a combination of Grade II+ and III+ rapids with some IV’s in the post-monsoon season. Because turbulent rapids are interspersed with sections of calmer water, there are plenty of chances to admire the scenery and spot wildlife along the way.
