Trip Overview: 

This trip offers fascinating experiences in both Egypt and Jordan. Starting in Cairo, discover the legendary Pyramids and Sphinx. Overnight sleeper train takes you to restful Aswan. Sail a felucca down the Nile to Luxor where you visit the spectacular temple complex of Karnak. Then explore the west bank, see the Colossi of Memnon and the mystical Valley of the Kings. Overnight train returns you to Cairo before you journey into the remote lands of the Sinai. Make a breathtaking ascent of Mount Sinai and visit St Katherine's monastery. At a beach camp you stay in simple huts, relax on the golden sands and snorkel the Red Sea. Take the ferry into Jordan, camp Bedouin-style in the desert at Wadi Rum, discover the legendary rock-cut city of Petra and float in the Dead Sea.

The Wonders of Egypt

In Cairo you visit the legendary Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. You’ll also see the vast array of treasures stored in the Egyptian Museum. Overnight train takes you to Aswan where you set sail on a felucca for Luxor. Explore Karnak temple and the Valley of the Kings before returning to Cairo. Journey into the remote lands of the Sinai Peninsular to explore St Catherine’s Monastery and make a breathtaking ascent of Mt. Sinai itself. Relax on the golden sands of the Red Sea and explore the underwater reefs.

 

The Treasures of Jordan

Cross the Red Sea by ferry to Aqaba. Then journey into the wild desert landscapes of Wadi Rum to camp Bedouin-style beneath the towering canyons that were once the hideout of Lawrence of Arabia. Discovering the legendary "lost city" of Petra which is cut from rock, one of the World's Seven Wonders, is a definite highlight of the trip. Visit an ancient crusaders castle in Kerak and finally complete your adventures in Jordan with a chance to float on the Dead Sea.
