Kandy Festival

The Esala Perahera (Festival of the Tooth) is held annually in July / August at the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) in Kandy. Witness a grand procession of dancers, musicians and lavishly decorated elephants. Book onto our 21 July 2012 departure to witness this spectacular annual event.

Hands On Adventure

Hands On Adventures combine our special blend of adventure and discovery with an opportunity to ‘lend a hand’ to a local project for an enriching experience. These adventures allow you to contribute to conservation of the natural environment and/or cultural heritage by getting a behind the scenes look at one of our carefully selected local projects.

Project Details

You'll spend three days with Dr Wolfgang Dittus' researchers as you track monkeys in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. You'll observe the behaviour of Torque Macaques and Purple Faced and Gray Langurs and learn about valuable conservation work from your base at the primate research camp.

Yala National Park

Discover Yala, Sri Lanka's most popular national park due in part to the fact that it has one of the highest leopard concentrations in the world. If you are very lucky you might spot one in amongst a huge variety of other flora and fauna.
