Reviews
Don't take our word for it - read through our customer reviews. All of these have been published without any editing.Petra was awesome. It was as they say - the pictures do not do it justice. An amazing experience. The Biblical sites were also very impressive - Bethany beyond Jordan and Mt Nebo were particular highlights. And finally Jerash was incredible...
Paula Feehan, October 2009
Jordan is an amazing country with so much to offer. One of the main highlights was getting to know the locals who have a wked sense of humour and take great delight in winding up us tourists!
I found that the actual organisation from the guide was poor at times. He didn't factor in time for lunch when travelling or sghtseeing, and we often went without or had to buy snacks to keep us going until tea time. We also ddn't have a welcome meeting which meant that a lot of information (day packs only for Wadi Rum) arrangements for evening was lost. He also had a strct clock on, clock off mentality, which I'd never encountered before. Shame really, as he really knew his stuff about Jordan.
Accomodation was good with friendly staff who were keen to help in the evenings, which was a good thing as we had no guide to point us in the right direction.

All amazing and wonderful. However I booked to go to Jordan for the desert part of the trip - Wadi Rum - this did not dissappoint and will go again to this area to include Aquaba next time as this place I really want to see too.
The group was over subscribed 18 having been told the max for the trip would be 16. This caused a lot of problems with the room allocation that our very kind and patient guide - Nassir - had to sort out which was not his responsibility to do so. If you pay for a single supplement - not cheap - you are entitled to get it. This also caused a domino effect with the dynamics of the group which we all could have done without. Not helpful to anyone when you are just here to enjoy a holiday which you have worked hard for all year. Very badly done.
Nassir - lovely man and very patient and kind to me when dealing with specific requests. Had to deal with a very unpleassnt situation on the first night when we all arrived very late to find there were not enough rooms at the hotel in Amman. He dealt with this which he was not responsible for as the group was oversubscribed. Shame on you AC!!!

Jaresh - Roman City - extensive and well preserved
Dana Guesthouse over a wonderful Wadi - an amazing dawn experience
Petra has to be experienced to be believed. Even if I had to make the steep trek up to the monastery by donkey - no easy task!
Bedouin Camp. Who would have thought it could be so wonderful?
The people - Jordanians are very hospitable - and playful.
[Least enjoyed] The long coach ride back from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea.
We all fell in love with the desert. Would we still be in love with it after another day there? It would be great to find out.
The bedouin camp and Dana could not be rated by your method. They are unique. At Dana some of the guests were ii bunk beds in shared accommodation, but the communal atmosphere and location were great. The toilets in the desert were much better than expected, and were clean, but you couldn't rate them highly as this might mislead people unused to camping. It was an amazing camp, we all loved it..
The last hotel with its view over the Dead Sea was very good. A few technicalities let it down, otherwise 5*
Nassar was very knowledgeable, and a great positive character
Mrs R - Travelled in March 2012
Petra was awesome, fully deserving its status as a new 7th Wonder. Dana was beautiful and peaceful, could have spent longer there. Wadi Rum was a wonderfull antidote to modern life. Jerash was a memorable surprise, hadn't anticipated the scale of the City.
[Least enjoyed] 'Travelling on Day 2. The stops weren't as interesting as others to me, though I appreciate the need to break the journey.
It was a wonderfull trip but special praise must go to the Guide, Nasser, who is the best I've ever had: knowledgeable, erudite, funny and relaxed, a brilliant ambassador for Jordan.
[Accommodation] We were pleasantly surprised! Having changed from the "Collection" Tour we were anticipating more basic accommodation. In all cases the public areas, restaurants were very good though in one case the room was a bit "tired"
As stated above, he was the best ever!
Mr W - Travelled in March 2012
Stimulating, informative and interesting tour. Reasonably well paced without
the continual "comfort" and tea breaks that seem to waste such a lot of time on other tours.
[Least enjoyed] I have already forwarded a letter regarding this. The time spent at Dana was too short and not as described, quote "Dana where it involves some scrambling over boulders and should be considered moderate" and also the walk was much too short; more of a very short gentle stroll. In fact writing this now I still feeled annoyed at the time wasted there,as the walking at Dana was the main reason that we booked with the Adventure Company. Trust between customer and company is important in that you need to feel confident you will experience the trip as described when booking. I understand, and appreciate, that sometimes it is easier, more time efficient to do things in a different order than described but I feel you were let down in this instance by the guide, Sam.
A lot more time could be spent walking at Dana, ideally leaving after lunch, missing out Shabak, arriving at Little Petra say4.00 leaving at 5.00 As it is only a short journey to Wadi Musa you would still have plenty of time to wash and get a meal before Petra at Night.
Madaba deserved more time to visit other archealogical sites which look interesting, but I am not sure where you would find the time except by making the holiday a day longer, with the added bonus of being able to have a good full days' treking at Dana.
Rooms ok, food ok. Not 5 star but we weren't expecting that on this holiday. There was always a good choice of food for breakfast, the rooms were clean and they were generally reasonably well situated.
See previous comments and my letter regarding Dana, the only downside to what would and could have been an outstanding trip.
Mrs C - Travelled in February 2012
The sights were phenomenal and the local guide's knowledge was second to none and truly exceptional. He was also a genuinely good guy too which helps as was easy to trust etc.
Very good, great leader, great country.
[Accommodation] So much better than I would have expected. Food was outstanding too. The camping night if anything was too good as was nothing like camping at all. Very professional and top quality.
Done plenty of tours and Ibrihim was the best leader I've ever had by far purely due to passion for the places we were going, exceptional local knowledge and good communication skills. Nice guy too.

The visit of Petra
The night camping in the desert (Wadi Ram, could have been two nights and more deep into the desert)
In Petra we could use two full days
[Least enjoyed] The boat tour on the Red Sea (the corals and fishes are not that great there)
[Ibrahim] Very professional. Good balance between the amount the information he gave, and the free time without any talk
Mr A - travelled in December 2011
Petra; mountains and canyons; desert; snorkelling on the Red Sea; entertaining and knowledgeable guide
He [Ibrahim] helped to bring the country alive
Ms B - Travelled in December 2011
There were many highlights:
- Ibrahim, our local guide, really made the trip with his friendliness, sense of humour, attentiveness, and his extensive knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm.
- Dana
- Petra
- (Optional) boat trip at Aqaba & the opportunity to snorkell in the Red Sea
Please see earlier comments. Ibrahim was fantastic and the trip would not have been the same without him.

'4x4 driving in the Wadi Rum and overnight bedouin camp, PETRA.
[ Moayad] knowledgable and credible guide with excellent historical content to tours.
only one fault which was a recommendation to eat dinner at hotel - usually expensive and poor quality, should always suggest local alternative.
Miss E - travelled in November 2011
There was a peaceful moment in Petra, on the top Viewpoint. I was looking at the landscape, overwhelm impressed, then the Bedouin at my back, said: Beautiful, would you like a tea? Having a tea on the top of nowhere, completely alone, near the sunset made me think.
I didnt like very much his tip management on our behalf. [Moayad]

Sleeping in the desert and riding a camel
Visiting Petra
The trip itinerary was fantastic. It was varied and comprehensive, and gave us every possible experience we could have wished for.
He was excellent, well-informed, interesting, flexible and well-organised. [Moayad]
Mrs S - travelled in November 2011
Our excellent guide whose knowledge was amazing.
Also he was such a nice man, with a gentle sense of humour.
I booked alone on to a group of 14 and teh company was excellent.
'It appeared that the hotels had been changed at the last minute in Amman and Wadi Musa (info from other travellers). This was a shame.
Fantastic - [Moayad] give the man a medal - he is a gem
Dr L - travelled in November 2011
Petra, Wadi Rum, Snorkelling in the Red Sea (optional), Dead Sea
Great guide [Moayad] , who changed itinerary and saved us from trip back to kerak from dana
Mr S - travelled in November 2011
'There were so many it is hard to choose, but definitely:
Petra (both by night and the daytime experience - just wish we'd had more daylight hours to see more!)
The day, evening and early morning in Wadi Rum - such stunning scenery and wonderful welcoming hospitality from the Bedouin.
Snorkelling in the Red Sea - fantastic coral reefs, quite the best I've seen
Waking up in the morning and seeing the view at Dana and also fabulous hospitality. Quite the best accommodation of the whole trip, beautiful place.
Jerash - quite a surprise and very impressive.
Finally, but by no means least the company and our fantastic guide Moayad.
The hotel in Petra was a disappointment in comparison with the rest of the trip accommodation.
This was a fabulous experience which the group collectively agreed actually exceeded most people's expectations - an amazing achievement in this day and age. Jordan is a wonderful location offering a vast array of different experiences, it is just a shame that people are staying away when there really is no security problem, quite the opposite, felt safer there than most places I have visited.
Moayad was quite the best trip leader I have ever come across. He was polite, punctual, sociable, always willing to answer our questions and very flexible. His outstanding knowledge of his country, its history and customs was second to none. It became a challenge to find something, he didn't know the answer to! The catch phrase became 'Mo knows!' Moayad also went the extra mile to find us good restaurants in what should have been his private time and alter the itinerary to fit our delayed arrival and personal preferences, thus providing a much smoother flow than was envisaged by the original itinerary. His obvious enthusiasm and love for his country and its rich history was infectious. I cannot fault him.
Mrs H - travelled in November 2011
I enjoyed every day of the holiday but petra and little petra exceeded expectations. The Dana nature reserve was breath taking.
One the whole the trip was very good. the outbound flight was unfortunately delayed, we were told it was due to sand storms in amman. This meant that the first day we had little sleep but we understood that the local guide could do nothing about this and he did switch around the tour itinerary a little to help us. The guide, Moyeade was exceptional, he never told us what time to return to the bus and left us feeling in charge of the tour, while he gently persuaded us to hurry along with great discretion. The driver drove a little too fast for my liking on the mountain roads, but we were not in danger. The hotels were a little disappointing except the dead sea spa hotel which i liked very much. The bedouin camp was welcoming and a wonderful experience. The Dana nature reserve was brilliant and I have experienced nothing like it before. the scenery was stunning. The food over all was moderate. Some in the group did not like that optional excursions were charged in US Dollars or Dinars, but in my opinion they should have calculated the exchange rate themselves if they were not happy and it was not the guides fault if they paid too much.
Moyeade is the best tour guide/group leader we have had whilst taking these type of holidays. on his knowledge and friendliness alone i would recommend this trip to friends.
Ms L - travelled in November 2011
As this was my first holiday on my own I had some reservations about the trip and how I would cope. However everyone was so kind, friendly and accommodating, not only did I cope, it was a truly amazing experience. For your part in this I honestly can't thank you enough.
