Climbing Mount Toubkal

Climbing Mount Toubkal and our guide Azziz who was open and interesting

[Least enjoyed] I think the hotel in Marrakech is too far from the centre.  35 min walk in august not good and taxi process is painful due to haggling etc.

Excellent trip from start to finish and would book again. Nice group size of 7.

Excellent group leader with real passion for mountains and Morocco

I LOVED it!!!

I loved all of it, the Hotel was fab, traditional but perfect for our short stay, Aziz our guide was fantastic from meeting us at the airport, right throughout the tour to leaving us at the airport.  Mohammed was also fantastic.  They were both very courteous, friendly and Aziz was very informative.  The food was fabulous both in the city and on the mountain!  Highlights included the weather, the company, team spirit, the lunch after the trip in Imil, obviously reaching the summit, as I am sure we all had moments of despair.  I was very emotional at the top and at the end of the trip I LOVED it!!!  Thank you!!

[Least enjoyed] The toilet situation,(sorry), if possible would recommend digging a different hole for the second day/night, particularly as we were fed food you would recommend for constipation lol!

I would recommend putting walking poles as an essential, I don't think I would have made it up or down Mount Toubkal without these and as I didn't take any was lucky one of the group lent me theirs

City Hotel was fab!!!  Traditional but loved the decor, the four poster beds, lovely hot showers, simple food which was fine and perfect location, friendly staff

As stated previously fantastic!!!!!

Mount Toubkal

the mixture of city/rough i.e excursion to Mt Toubkal followed by a day in Marrakech

[Least enjoyed] the travel arrangements were appallingly bad.  I arrived in Marrakech at 1:15 am and didn't get to the hotel until 2:30 or thereabout and wake up call the next morning (when we would have had to do a good 9 hours walk) was 6:30 or thereabout.  I didn't mind changing at Casablanca, although a direct flight to Marrakech would have been better, but it was the long wait in Casablanca and the fact that everybody else seemed to be on the earlier flight from Casablanca to Marrakech and they later told me there were lots of places free, so much that even the Air Maroc staff was prepared to let me fly on the earlier flight for no extra payment had it not be that I had checked in baggage.

hotel in marrakech wasnt central and bathroom wasnt new but it was spotlessy clean and beautiful.  Campsite wise it was my first experience camping and it was fantastic, I think I was lucky as I didnt have to share the tent otherwise tent might have been too small to share with a stranger.

group leader had a difficult job as he was dealing with a group that was mixed in terms of expectations, so top marks for that!

The whole experience was a series of 'highlights'.

The whole experience was a series of 'highlights'. Our guide could not have been more helpful, courteous and diligent and we packed a huge amount into the four days of the trip without feeling harried. The Mount Toukbhal ascent day was wonderful and the lunch that we had the next day, before getting the bus back to Marakesh was stunning  - in terms of location and quality of the meal.

Asis made the whole trip a great experience for the whole group. We had people with differing levels of treking experience and he, and the assistant guide, supported the slower members of the group so that everyone got to the top and felt confident in the support that they got. He also went out of his way to find us restaurants that suited our interests and pockets and gave us advice on where to go in Marakesh. I have done three Adventure Company trips now - Kili, Everest Base Camp and the short Toukhbal weekend.  Asis was in a different league from the other leaders - although the others were more than adequate.

Excellent trip

1. Waking up at 5.30 in the morning in the base camp on 3200 meters around sunrise in the mist that made everything magical. 2. Reaching the summit felt as a great success. 3. Having typical Moroccan meals in the communal tent with the fellow travelers and guides.

Mohammad and Ibrahim were professional and knowledgeable guides. We very much appreciated the encouragement and personal help they gave us when we felt we perhaps cannot finish the trip. With their excellent organization everyone in the group managed to reach the summit.

We were happy with all the aspects of the trip (hotel, transportation, meals and most importantly the guides). They made camping as comfortable as possible and everything ran smoothly and according to the schedule. Tip: We brought with us a few bottles of canned oxygen which turned out to be a life saver at the altitude. When feeling sick and inhaling a few times we felt a lot better and more energetic.
