Morocco School Group Holiday

You don’t have to travel far for a real, distinctive learning experience. Morocco’s fascinating culture, landscapes and religion not only offer students an ability to expand their horizons – but it’s also a great value destination. You’ll travel into the geologically diverse Atlas Mountains, along the lush Draa Valley and out into the arid desert, stopping to meet the local Berber people along the way.
Morocco is our most popular destination for school groups wishing to step outside of Europe without the expense of a long haul flight and a drastically different time zone. With an extensive choice of flight options and great value for money packages contact us to find out more about the different tour options we can offer.

Marrakech
Arriving in Morocco you head to Marrakech and discover the lively bazaar and colourful main square, the Djemaa el-Fna, that comes to life at sunset with jugglers, musicians and acrobats. You look at the growth of Marrakech in the context of Urban Change and the issues of housing and programs to manage them. The Medina Souks (Old Town) provide fascinating visits whilst the El Koutoubia mosque and the five calls to prayer are a daily reminder of the diversity of international cultures.
Deserts and Camels
You will experience the transition into desert as you travel from the Draa Valley into the desert following the Oued Draa to the Dunes de Teraf - a magical area of rolling dunes in the middle of nowhere. It’s one camel per person with additional animals to carry baggage, camping equipment and water. Your traditional nomad tents are made of dark woven material stretched over wooden props with sides that can hang down or be raised for ventilation.
High Atlas
A journey through the High Atlas (viewing Mount Toubkal, 4,167m) via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass reveals stunning landscapes, natural and human, and offers an insight into plate tectonics and fold mountain formation. Uplifted sedimentary strata, tilted and folded (volcanic rocks in evidence too) are seen and river incision, with classic incised meanders are very clear for the students. Flash flooding is a natural hazard and the optional Study Unit allows good engagement with this topic.
