Trip Overview:

Explore some of the most famous and best restored of the Yucatan Mayan sites on this family holiday. Chichen Itza (Mouth of the Well of the Itzas) was listed as one of the new seven wonders of the world, and you cannot fail to be impressed as you take in the huge complex. Uxmal (pronounced oosh-mal) is also among the top Mayan archaeological sites in Mexico, with it's fascinating, well-preserved structures made of pink-hued limestone that cover the complex.

Haciendas and Lagoons

Learn about the history of colonial Mexico on this family holiday by visitng a local, working hacienda. Here you will see first hand the process of making rope fibre and the grand main buildings. The nature reserve at Celestun is home to more than 300 bird species, including large flocks of flamingoes. Take a trip around the lagoon by boat to see how many you can spot.

Cenotes

A cenote is a sink hole or underground cave where clear, cool water provides a perfect swimming opportunity. The Yucatan is full of these hidden spots and they are a refreshing oasis for explorers to take a cooling dip.
