Rainforest & Lemurs

Staying at Andasibe you start the trip with an exciting Lemur encounter in Perinet, where you’ll take trails into the rainforest in search of lemurs and other wildlife. A nocturnal walk is also included.

Trekking & National Parks

This trip takes in the best that Madagascar has to offer, combining visits to three national parks where you may spot numerous different species of lemur, mid-altitude rainforests as well as the stunning rock formations of Isalo National Park and the pinnacles of the Grands Tsingy of Berarha. In Morondava there is the chance to swim or to stroll along the beach. There are opportunities for all sorts of wildlife spotting (mammals, amphibians and reptiles), bird watching (in season), forest walking and sightseeing.

Evolution at work

Madagascar is simply unique. The world’s fourth largest island broke away from the African mainland roughly 125 million years ago. Its subsequent isolation has ensured the evolution of spectacular wildlife, the like of which is found nowhere else; the endearing lemurs, 800 species of butterfly and moth, half the world’s species of chameleon, and an extraordinary variety of orchids.
