Reviews
Don't take our word for it - read through our customer reviews. All of these have been published without any editing. The sense of achievement at summiting Kilimanjaro and the fabulous group of people that made up our group, including the guides and porters.
I do not think there was anything that I did not enjoy - although I would not want to be anywhere near Kibo hut toilets again!!
I was disappointed that there was no mention when booking or on our departure itinerary of the additional one hour stopover on the tarmac at Mombasa airport on both the outward and return flight between Addis Ababa and Kilimanjaro. I think this should be noted somewhere on the trip details.
The lodge in Arusha is what I marked the star recommendations on although the huts on the mountain were also very nice with the toilet facilities in most cases much better than I had expected.
William was great, very helpful and willing to answer any of our questions.

The quality and experience of the guide was amazing. Also, this is the second trip I've booked with the Adventure company this year - the quality of the food and itinerary was - and I choose my words carefully - off the scale amazing.
[Least enjoyed] The indirect flights - pretty bad.
Keep doing what you're doing!!

The whole trip was excellent. Obviously reaching the top of Kili was amazing. Tipping was awkward as the guidlines given were an amount divided by total members of the group. As I was in a group of 3 this would have worked out very expensive per individual therefore we had to reduce the amount. Any guidlines you give to the guides should reflect that the total amount may vary depending on group size. On booking my holiday, I infomed them is was my birthday. I was told that TAC would pass thison to the guide. On my trip the guide found out it was my birthday but explained he wasn't told by The Adventure Company of this as he explained that normally they arrange a cake/porters sing, but as he wasn't told in advance he couldn't arrange this. It's not a big deal, but it would have been nice as I specifically choce my holiday to be away for my birthday.
Really amazing at getting me to the top of Kili. He held my hand and carried my day pack. I never would have got to the top without him.

the experience.
Clarification should be given regarding tips. The group leader informed us on the first day at our request what is expected regarding tips. This was requested due to our financial planning for the trip.A list was provided by the leader who stated the Adventure Companies guidelines. There was only 3 of us in the group and the tips stated was for the trek per day and not in person. The cost was totally unrealistic given there was only 3 of us. It was no reflection on Tropical Trails that we did not pay the suggested amount, however we did pay a substantial amount each, this left us with limited finance at the end of the trip. Amended guidlines should be given thought regarding tips for the number within the group. We have been on 5 AC trips with larger groups and this has been shared between the group. There was also issues about tipping on transfers, this was unclear...transfer from airport or to the start of the trip? Again this caused issues. Kili is a costly trek with substantial tips this works out at alot more expensive than first thought. Also our fellow trekker turned up with an Adventure Company bag. Not sure why we did not recieve one seeing this is our 5th trip with you.
