Sam Oakes & Travel Photography
Sam Oakes is a professional photographer with many years experience. He is known for his fun and friendly approach to teaching and likes nothing better than helping adults and children of all ages improve their photography skills. He has appeared in many magazines and exhibitions and published his first book of travel photography in 2009. He has even received praise from Michael Palin, who said: ‘Excellent work! Keep on doing what you’re doing!’
Photo Challenges
To help you practice your skills, you will be set a series of exciting photography challenges! Sam will guide you out into the streets, the mountains and coast, as you learn how to capture colourful scenes and emotional moments. Over the course of the trip you create your own portfolio of images to take home with you. You will have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback on your work.
Culture & Camel Rides
Morocco is a whirlwind of ancient history and exotic activities. You will visit the souks and bazaars of Marrakech, the traditional Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains and an old pirates' nest of Essaouira. Here by the sea, you can spend your day watching the fishermen, going for walks around the old fort and enjoying delicious seafood. Then, why not venture out into the desert for your first camel ride?

We do ask that you bring your own camera along with you. Your photography expert will be on hand to show you how to make the most out of your own equipment. So you can continue to take fantastic shots once you return home!
