An excellent trip which gave a real insight into both the cultural and diversity of the landscape of this stunning country.

Excellent trip with a variety of landscapes and experiences

I loved all the places we visited, but I especially liked Fes, Ait Benhaddou and Essaouira.

Noreddine was a knowledgable and well organised group leader. He made sensible suggestions and took us on a few short additional walks to give us further insight into the ways of life of Moroccan villagers. He also got us some excellent local guides.

I suggest that you prepare for a variety of weather conditions as there are different climatic zones in Morocco. It was hotter than I expected. It is also a good idea to shower at the end of the day - most of the places use solar water heating so you are likely to get hot water then. There is no need to take a sleeping bag as there were plenty of blankets but a sheet sleeping bag is handy. If you get change from a bank, this is helpful for paying for little items, tipping etc. Enjoy the mint tea and fresh orange juice - access to alcohol can be a bit limited. I also suggest that you ask your Group Leader to make all the arrangements and transfers for the Essaouira Extension before the end of the main trip - I felt that the arrangements were a bit vague and I was left to sort some of it out myself.

Overall the trip itinerary was excellent and very good value for money.

Visiting the medina in Fez and the camel trek into the desert and overnight at the campsite.  The dancing and singing around the camp fire was great.

The restaurant we were taken to on the last evening was a let down.  The food was quite expensive and of poor quality.  It was also a long way from our hotel.

Overall the trip itinerary was excellent and very good value for money.

The breakfasts provided were on occasion quite basic, although in the main towns the standard was very good.

Hassan was very approachable and very reliable as a group leader.

Guide really good

Essaouira
Great bunch of fellow travellers
Quality of guide (Hassan)

[Least enjoyed] Camel journey - due to existing hip damage.

Guide really good at not just guiding but explaining things and having good sense of humour-very necessary with our group!

[Accommodation] Better than expected

Rather than just doing his job he looked after his clients and talked to them individually.

fantastic trip, saw and did many great things.

fantastic trip, saw and did many great things.  it was quite exhausting as there was much time spent travelling in coach, and maybe min of 2 nights per place would help that?  excellent guides, great people in group, highlights was camel trip and desert camp, hotel at Todra Gorge, some of the local people we met, volubilis. also, the accommodation was better standard than trip notes led us to believe, which was very welcome indeed!  hotel in marrakesh lovely

another great trip with Adventure company!

[Least enjoyed] Moroccan airport and flights: the airports in Morocco awful, extremely slow passing through passport control on both arrival and departure; going through security checks when checking in which was repeated through transit, everyone receiving body searches.  Airline poor, no vegetarian meals on either flights, even though i had ordered them, no alcohol served.  really poor.

really great group leader, very organised, interesting, good fun, sociable, knowledgeble, informative.

Breakfast was poor. General hygiene was not good.

Some long driving days but we had been warned before hand.

accomodation was varied. Some nice hotels and some hostel type places. Again we had been informed about this.

He was very tollerantof the british sense of humour.

Highlights were Fes Medina, Desert camel train, walking in High Atlas

Highlights were Fes Medina, Desert camel train, walking in High Atlas

We were not sufficiently prepared for the level of cold, and the lack of heating and hot water in hotels/gites in the High Atlas.
The tour around Marrakech with local guide added little to the trip.
Enjoyed the travel aspect and seeing a large area of Morocco.

Very conscientious

The holiday was an awe-inspiring mix of culture, buildings and natural phenomenon

I wanted to write and tell you what a wonderful holiday I had at Christmas.

The holiday itself was an awe-inspiring mix of culture, buildings and natural phenomenon. I hadn't realised how diverse Morocco was. Although we packed such a lot in our holiday, it didn't feel rushed. We had plenty of time to see each part of the itinerary. It was at the end of each day wehn we looked back that we realised just how much we had done.

It was my first Christmas away from home and I was anxious, but I had an absolutelty wonderful time and wanted to relay this to you and your company.

From the start Mohamed was the sort of guide that everone would want to have. He was friendly, thoughtful, exceedingly knowledgeable, well organised and did his best for us at all times. He also had a very good relationship with Moulay, our driver.

The night in the desert camp was memorable.

The night in the desert camp was memorable. The sunrise was unforgetable.

The nights were extremely cold and one hotel was equiped with only one patio heater to warm the whole building. Everyone was freezing and wrapped in blankets around the meal table. The night spent inside a tent in the desert was more comfortable!

It was a great trip full of interest and we were lucky to gel as a happy go lucky group. Some  of the days spent on board the mini bus however were a little trying. I would have prefered less motorised transport and more self propelled movement i.e. walking.

The accomodation was well placed clean and tidy. The heating and hot water systems were sometimes not up to standard though.

He [Said] was a natural and made the holiday even better.

A really good mix of activities

The guide we had was sooo lovely and kind, he was very passionate and knowledgeable which made a real impact. Seeing things that felt like we were off the beaten track was very good. There was a really good mix of activities and I really enjoyed the whole trip!

The details on our intinerary for the meeting place at the beginning of the trip were incorrect so that was a bit disconcerting and meant we went to the wrong hotel.

Our guide went out of hi way to make sure we could make the most out of everything we did and to me that was priceless!

We didn't stay in palaces or 5 star accommodation but for the price we paid it was totally fine and met expectations. The only issues we had were that it got v cold in the evenings so sometimes we were freezing.

'Amazing - he was sooo good!! Muhammad we love you!

such a diversity of places

All of it - such a diversity of places we went to and saw, that no one place stood out, although i have to say the camel trip out to the desert and the overnight there probably topped it.

[Least enjoyed] The cold - but that's Morocco in winter for you!  If i had investigated it more throughly before I went, would have realised it's not all sun, sun, sun in December! In some places the showers were cold, but you go with the flow and wet wipes are a wonderful invention!

There is a lot of travelling, but if you want to see all the places, until they invent the 'beam me up' machine, then that's all part of it.

Our group leader [Said] was very good, i think we wore him out though!

Great guide

The accommodation that I expected to be poor was very good, and some of the hotels I expected to be very good were really not up to standard

Mohamed was amazing and made the trip a complete success. Very knowledgeable, interesting, fun and endeavoured to include even the weaker members of the group in all activities without weighing too much on the rest of the group. A real professional, and genuinely lovely man.

A perfect Group Leader.

Riding a dromedary into the Sahara and spending a night in a Bedouin tent was a wonerful experience which wll stay with me for a long time.

The coldness of the Gite in the mountains was awful. We had been told to expect it to be cold but I don't think any of the group had realised there would be no heatingat all.

'The rooms I had were fine. It was the lack of hot water, where there should have been some, which was the problem! (Especially half way through a shower in a cold room!)

Mohamed was a wonderful Group Leader, he was friendly, helpful  ,kept us informed, gave us lots of incedental information and was very knowledgeable about his country. A perfect Group Leader.
