Trip Overview:

Uncover a land of mystifying contrasts on our breathtaking Peru tours: high plateau, snow-capped mountain, fertile valleys and rushing rivers. From historic Arequipa to the depths of the Colca Canyon with its high-flying condors you begin to get an understanding of the country. As your journey continues into the Peruvian Andes to scenic Lake Titicaca and the ruins of Machu Picchu you cover all the elements of Peru's culture and natural history.

You'll fly down to Arequipa, saving valuable time you would otherwise spend travelling over land. This will free up more of your holiday for the fantastic, scenic walks included in the Colca region - unforgettable and staggeringly beautiful scenery in the heart of the Andean range.

Peru tours really puts the condor centre stage - maximising your time at the Colca Canyon and really exploring this less visited part of Peru.

Arequipa & Colca Canyon

Starting in colonial Arequipa you’ll discover the walled enclosure of Santa Catalina Convent before heading over the high altiplano to the impressive Colca Canyon - where condors soar on the rising thermals. There are two excellent walks included in the region.

Machu Picchu tours & Cusco

Next stop is Cusco, once the capital of the Inca empire. After visiting the vast fortress of Sacsayhuaman you head out to Pisac market and soak up the warm atmosphere of the Sacred Valley. Finally board the fabled train ride to the lost city of Machu Picchu to fully explore the labyrinth of Inca temples and houses perched high in the Andes. Machu Picchu tours really are not worth missing.

Inti Raymi

Now the second largest festival in South America, Inti Raymi is a modern enactment of an ancient Inca ritual, taking place at the winter solstice to honour the Sun God and pray for the return of longer days.

There is a whole week of activities and celebration in the streets of Cusco culminating with a procession and ceremonial display at Sacsayhuaman on the outskirts of the city. The main display takes place on the 24th of July, however, the real fun is found in the streets on the days leading up to this. Tickets can be arranged for the display locally (not included) but all marked dates will experience the festivities in Cusco in the days leading up to the 24th.
