Cairo & Alexandria
Bustling Cairo gives a vibrant start to this experience. You visit the pyramids, the sphinx and the impressive Egyptian Museum. Onwards to the port of Alexandria where you discover the largest Roman burial site in Egypt and a library with a stunning 8 million books.
Aswan & Abu Simbel
In Aswan you have some time to relax a little before an early flight takes you to the stunning Abu Simbel temples built by Ramses II.
Nile Cruise
The waters of the Nile are plied by everything from small sail and rowing boats, to large luxury cruise boats. Back in Aswan you’ll board an air-conditioned, modest yet comfortable riverboat, carrying up to 100 passengers. Your en suite cabin will be compact, usually with twin-beds and a window. Facilities on board will include a sun deck and plunge pool, as well as a restaurant and bar. On this classic river journey you will stop en route to explore the temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo.
Once in Luxor you’ll visit the legendary Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple. There’s also time for you to take a short felucca ride on the Nile or to visit floodlit Luxor Temple.
A short flight returns you to Cairo for a final day’s sightseeing, or last minute shopping in one of the myriad bazaars.
