Our Projects
Here’s a summary of our main projects, all of which receive a financial contribution from The Adventure Company. This financial contribution is usually in the form of a donation made byt the Adventure Company per client that travels to that country. More information can be found by clicking on the link and reading about the projects on the relevant trip page or dossier. There may also be the opportunity to visit these projects on our trips, or make a financial contribution through our Foundation or directly to the project itself – please contact us for details.
India – Betalghat School
Betalghat is a small place in the Himalayan foothills. Here there is a school which, though government funded, is in desperate need of more financial support. It’s a primary school with approximately 50 pupils. Our first step is to provide uniforms for those children who can’t afford them. This means they cannot go to school during the colder winter months. After that we will look to buy stationery and educational resources.

Kenya – The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
The Trust was established in 1977 to honour the memory of David Sheldrick, a naturalist and founder warden of Tsavo East National Park. Tsavo National Park is Kenya’s largest wildlife refuge, with the world’s single largest population of elephants. Here you will also find two Elephant Rehabilitation Centres, set-up to nurture orphaned elephants until such time as they are ready to be integrated back into the wild. It costs USD 50 for foster an elephant for a year.

Working with our local agent in Nepal, we have recently helped to fund the building of a new sports and community centre. The centre helps to unite underprivileged youngsters from the surrounding villages and provides various educational facilities. The centre has been built with four aims in mind: recreation, team-work, vocational skills and entrepreneurship. It’s located on the road which links Kathmandu and Pokhara, and is still in need of support to keep the centre going.
South Africa – Safaris for Disadvantaged Local Children
We support a project run by our local agent in South Africa in conjunction with the SOS children’s home in Johannesburg. The project enables disadvantaged local children to experience the thrill of an African safari – something which is normally totally out of their reach. We pay for a group of children to do this each year.

Tanzania – Arusha Children’s Trust
This school, located in a remote village roughly an hour outside of Arusha, was built by our local supplier to help teach young children who would not otherwise have access to any sort of formal education. Their schooling helps these children develop a wider understanding of the world they live in as well as providing one hot meal a day – a meal which provides the key source of nutrition for many of these children. With over 80 students, the work of the school’s director isn’t easy, which is why we offer our financial support – to help them develop further.

The Binh Luc Children’s Centre was established in 1990 to provide a home and care for orphaned children – there are currently 43 children at the centre. The centre is 70kms from Hanoi and has rooms for sleeping, reading and administration, plus a kitchen and a separate bathroom block. There is also a vegetable garden for the children to tend to, which improves nutrition at the centre, one of the on-going projects at the children’s centre.
