Choose Morocco for a French language school trip with a difference
Schools looking for a unique and interesting destination for their next French language trip can now travel to Morocco with The Adventure Company, for a six-day tour of the French-speaking Bourmez Valley.
With more than 15 years’ experience of running overseas adventure tours for young people, The Adventure Company’s new French language trip aims to provide pupils with cultural immersion in a village where English is seldom spoken and French is the primary means of communicating.
Students will get the opportunity to join Berber children in their school to practise their language skills, take a French lesson with a local teacher, learn about the area’s agricultural techniques, and experience local customs such as preparing mint tea and sweet biscuits.
Often referred to as “Morocco’s best-kept secret”, the Bougmez Valley is a rugged and picturesque area at the base of the High Atlas Mountains which is not on the standard tourist route.
The trip includes walks with bilingual guides, which can be conducted in French or English and a visit to the village of Aguerd n'Ouzrou where the ground is marked with dinosaur footprints. The trip finishes in the vibrant city of Marrakech, where students can sharpen their bartering skills at the bazaars and souks whilst practicing their French.
Morocco is just a four-hour flight from the UK with several low-cost flight options, but offers a fascinating, diverse culture and beautiful landscapes, and is an alternative for schools looking to go somewhere different on their next French language trip.
