Mombasa
An overnight flight will take you to your destination Mombasa today. Arriving in Mombasa you will transfer to your hotel which is located directly on the shores of the Indian Ocean. After settling in you will take a city tour of Mombasa which is the second largest city in Kenya and is largely influenced by Arabic culture. Visit lively Mackinon Market where a wide selection of local fruits and vegetables are sold daily. See a beautifully decorated Hindu temple. Take a photograph of the huge pair of elephant tusks which are a memorial to the visit of Queen Elizabeth in 1952 and have become a landmark of the city. Explore Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese 400 years ago to protect the city and wander along the narrow lanes of the old town eventually reaching the Old Dhow Harbour. Returning to your hotel the rest of the day is free to relax by the pool or on the beach.

Mombasa
A free day to enjoy the beach or take an optional excursion. You might like to take a full day boat trip and go snorkelling to discover a new underwater world of brightly coloured fish and corals which inhabit the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. (BLD)
Tsavo National Park
Today you will drive to Tsavo National Park for your African safari experience. This afternoon you take a game drive to Mzima Springs a place which is favoured by hippos and crocodiles. There is also an underwater viewing area where you can watch the fish as they swim around, sadly the shy hippos have moved away to the other side of the pool since this viewing area was built.
During your stay in Tsavo NP you will stay in two different lodges, both are family friendly and comfortable, in order for you to experience the very best wildlife that this park offers as different wildlife favours each of the varied geographical conditions that this park contains. In the second lodge you will stay in the typical 'tree house' with a stunning view.
The next day you take another game drive as you search for the Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. There are large herds of up to 50 elephant in the park which is a positive result from the ongoing battle against poaching. Spectacular herds of buffalo numbering 1000 are also found here an make an amazing sight.
Later you will visit a Taita village walking through aloevera farms, learning about medicinl plants, intermarriage culture, traditional dances and you will get to visit a local school. The excursion will last for about two and half hours.

Tsavo to Mombasa
Another game drive this morning as you explore more of this varied park from waterholes to plains and volcanic cones to rocky outcrops.
Later you make the return journey back to the coast and your Mombasa hotel for the final night.
Severin Sea Lodge (AAAA) - 3 nights - Swimming Pool (BLD)
Mombasa
You will have a full day snorkelling trip in the marine reserve. A relaxing day off in the sea where you will be delighted by the magical underwater world. The following day is free to enjoy the swimming pool and the beach, or take an optional activity. (BLDx2)
Fly home
This morning, the ones on the group flight will transfer to the airport for your daily flight home. (B)
