Fly to Marrakech / Transfer straight out to the Bougmez valley
On arrival in Marrakech you will be met by your tour leader who will speak both French and English. The tour can be conducted entirely in French if you would like. You will travel straight out of the colourful Marrakech and head into the Central High Atlas to the village of Ikhf n Ighir in the Bougmez Valley. We will stop regularly for breaks and a quick picnic lunch; the journey will take about 5 hours and you will be treated to spectacular scenery along the way.
On arrival at the hotel you will be shown to your rooms and given the chance to freshen up before a wonderful Moroccan dinner. (LD)

Full day to meet the students and start to learn about village life
Today you will be introduced to the students who will be your hosts for the duration of your stay. You will be given a tour of the village and shown the workings of village life.
Every experience on this trip will be slightly different depending on the time of year you visit, the student you are paired with and your own interests. We aim to give your pupils total immersion into the village life where French will be their only means of communicating. They will join the berber students and their families in the fields and learn about farming techniques and irrigation. If there is any harvesting or threshing going on they can join in and have a go if they would like to. They will be welcomed into the family homes and shown a tea ceremony as well as given the chance to try other domestic work such as weaving or milking cows.
If the trip takes place during the Moroccan school term they can join some lessons and where possible we will also arrange a French lesson with a local teacher.
They will of course also be invited to join in with the fun side of village life, such as football, dancing, kite making, sketching, weaving or jewellery making. (BLD)

There you will get a chance to marvel at the breathtaking views from the top.
The afternoon is spent with the students. (BLD)

Journey back to Marrakech / city tour / shopping in the souks / main square Djemma El Fna
This morning you’ll journey back over the mountains to Marrakech. On arrival you’ll be taken on a walking tour of the centre which takes in the main sights and the sprawling souks. Here individual trades and crafts are concentrated together in a single street or area, so all the shoemakers are next to each other, as are the jewellers, the potters, the weavers, etc. This is the best place in Morocco to sharpen your bargaining skills and you're almost certain to be tempted by some of the extraordinary variety of merchandise on display - even if it's only a trinket or a packet of exotic spices.
After this you’ll head out to the famous Djemaa el-Fna square for dinner & a short walk around the food stalls. (BLD)
Flight home to London
Today depending on your flight time there is time for you to do some final shopping in the souks before boarding your plane home to London. (B)
