All good.

All good.  Couldn't fault it.

[Least enjoyed] We had 2 previous holidays to Africa cancelled by AdventureCo.We booked this one about 6weeks ahead. When I booked and asked about plane tickets and visas Iwas told all necessary paperwork would be sent in the post. I received the letter for the Etickets which meant we weren't getting any plane tickets. No mention at all anywhere about getting visas. On our last trip a few years ago to Africa we asked about visas before we went and we were told the guide would sort them all out which he did. At Heathrow we were unable to book our flights to Vietnam and had to sign a disclaimer to get on the flight to Bangkok. We rang AdventureC .before boarding at Heathrow and were told we could get the visas online within 12hours, we had about 15 hours til we landed at Bangkok. We paid more money to have them processed urgently. We applied for the visas on the internet before we boarded the flight. At Bangkok the visa acknowledgement letter hadn't arrived. We found out later that this was because it was a weekend and we had to wait until Monday before the letter of acknowledgement arrived and we could then board the flight to Saigon. We therefore had to pay for accommodation in Bangkok and the flight to Saigon. The stress was unbeleivable.

[Accommodation] Was adequate.  Probably acceptable for the price.

Excellent.  Couldn't be better.

***** Comment from The Adventure Company*****

The necessity of applying for visas for Vietnam is mentioned on our trip notes and all documentation refers our clients to refer to the trip notes for details of visas. We are sorry to hear that these clients were unaware that visas were required.

Halong bay overnight boat trip was a brilliant experience

Halong bay overnught boat trip  was a brilliant experience . also pleased that the boat was solely for our group ( and crew ) as w had gelled really well a a group and it  was a great end to the trip.
also i had my birthday whilst on holiday  and our tour leader made it special by arranging a birthday cake iced and personalised for me to share with the group a very thoughtful touch . He also did the same for a couple who had a 50th wedding anniversairy.
Home-stay in Mekong Delta and island walks and cycle trips gave us excellent opportunities to meet and interact with people of all ages Our guide was excellent often going out of his way to make sure all members of our group were happy

[Least enjoyed] shopping' as a group (did not want this- how ever some other group members did)
unexpected poor weather on several days

excellent varied and interesting itinerary. Many opportunities to see local people at work in various capacities such sweet making and popped rice production, Rice paper production , silk productio and the brick factory are just a few that were incedibly interesting and if travelling independently i would be unlikely to have known to seek out such activities to watch

Some hotel rooms only had a view of a wall.
In one hotel our room was unpleasant due to bad smell (?damp) however on informing reception they immediately moved us to a better room

showed exemplary patience and went out of his way to ensure group members were happy,he was cheerful with a good sense of humour, and always keen to learn a bit more English. on group meals he always made sure thre was a 'no meat' option for me as i am vegetarian
