The guide was excellent

The guide was excellent and the composition of the trip was superb.

The quality of the accommodation in Las Vegas and at the Grand Canyon was disappointing. Also we thought the choice of Pinguitch for the Bryce overnight was very strange. Not en route and a motel which was far more suitable for the manual workers staying there than for a family group. The variability of the accommmodation was the main disappointment about the trip overall.

The guide kept everyone enthusiastic and found expert tour guides for the different excursions and sorted out trailer lunches which usefully saved us a lot of money overall.

I have outlined above my reservations about the quality of the accommodation in three of the stops. I strongly think that an alternative should be found for the very grotty motel in Pinguitch which was neither on the way nor suitable for family groups. The Red Feather Lodge at Tusayan was also very disappointing. The doors were simply planks for wood - not painted and it was right by the airport with constant noise from the helicopter flights. The Alexis Park at Las Vegas was a long walk from the strip. Although the quality of the service was excellent there the decor was extremely shabby and dated and not at the three star level promised for the trip. The hotels in Page and Zion, the guest ranch and the Monument Valley stops were the standard I would expect from this sort of trip and it was very disappointing there was not a consistent standard overall.

Chris was a very good leader and catered well for the varied group.

We are sorry to hear that the accommodation on the trip did not meet expectations. We have passed these comments on to Grand American Adventures for their information and action.

superb locations

Not having to worry about navigating and driving.  Being taken to superb locations and the inclusive activities.

[Least enjoyed] The transportation.  I had expected the transport to be more comfortable especially with the amount of travelling.  The minibus was noisy and uncomfortable with no head rests.  The cost of the trip was expensive and I would have thought the transport at least should have been comparable.

The information provided prior to the trip was very generic especially with regard to clothing, etc.

most of the accommodation was adequate and what was expected but a couple of rooms fell slightly below.

**** Comment from The Adventure Company ****

We have passed this feedback onto our sister company. Maxi-wagons like the one used on this trip are one of the few easily available vehicles for small tour groups. We have investigated using other vehicles however have found no more suitable vehicle as yet. We are continually looking for new vehicles.
