The local guide (Mike) who was superb, knowledgeable and efficient + very patient when trying to juggle all our needs and requirements.
[Least enjoyed] There was too much travelling for the time available and the group was larger than advertised (18 instead of 16) which meant it took longer to board bus etc. The itinerary needs carefully evaluating as our's was the first trip. Our guide said the Adventure Company were made aware that it was alot of time on the bus. Also some of the advertised stops were not possible and again the guide said AC knew this - but the itinerary was not changed. The trip is not suitable for under 8s probably even under 10 due to the amount of travelling and the nature of some of the activities. The 7 year old in our group struggled. Air Madagascar flights are not reliable and again this needs reviewing.
It was a fantastic trip but I strongly advise you to carefully reconsider the itinerary.
We did not stay in a tented lodge as stated on itinerary - not sure why not. One hotel was grim with toilets not working, no bath plug etc. Looked like a remnant from Communist days....
He was superb - without his knowledge, patience and good humour the trip would not have been as enjoyable.

The tour size was increased to 18 due to an oversight. We would normally contact all clients to ensure that they are happy with the group size increase. We are putting systems into place to ensure that this does not happen again.
We do mention in our literature that there are long drives involved but we will review our literature to make sure that this is clearer.
Following this feedback we have now increased the minimum age to 8.

[Least enjoyed] Travelling long and flight delays made for long , uncomfortable waits in the airports
Obviously being the first time the trip was done there were a few teething problems and inaccuracies but this is to be expected and the fantastic local guide coped admirably well. The only Changes to be made are the age limit, 7 is definitely too young and the group size should not have exceeded 14, 18 was too many and made travelling uncomfortable and journey stops too long, resulting in long days and late arrivals to destinations.
All the accommodation was good and most was excellent, only the one night in antisirabe was a bit Disappointing in comparison to the rest
Michael Zafinimbiny was outstanding. We felt completely safe in his hands and confident in his abilities. He worked so hard to make the holiday a success. He was friendly, knowledgable, discreet, kind, considerate and compassionate. He was proud of his country and showed us all sides of it. He was very astute about dealing with any potential problems and worked tirelessly to make our holiday special. He definitely deserves to go far as he was more than capable of running and adjusting our itinerary .
