There were so many highlights! The famous attractions fully met and exceeded my expectations (Halong Bay, Angkor). The visit of Angkor was the top! The friendly local people and the relatively low touristic pressure were a good surprise for me. The "side activities" were very good : kayak in Halong Bay, motorbike tour in Hue, Bamboo train in Phnom Pen, early swim in Hoi An,... The optional visit to the Cu Chi tunnels was great (our very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide on that day, Ngoc Pham, made it a highlight). Above all, what made the trip most enjoyable was our wonderful tour guide Viet Bui, who managed to share his experience with us, and to make us like his country. Many thanks to him!
The Mekong delta visit was nice, but in my imagination, I expected a more remote place in the middle of dense forests. Many thanks to consultant Jon Barber in London who contacted me and helped me after he realised I had problems with the booking procedures (my credit card was initially rejected).
The support to local disadvantaged people is a very good thing. I specially think of the restaurants teaching to former street children, or organisations giving shelter to abused girls .
Viet Bui is a wonderful group leader. He explained a lot about the history, the culture and present state of his country. He is also very attentive to the people in his group, and very friendly. His Kung Fu capabilities are amazing, and were great fun. He also shared his personal story with us ; that is interesting for us foreigners to know, and make him closer to the group, like a friend. On the optional day excursion to the Cu Chi tunnels, I was also lucky to meet tour guide Ngoc Pham. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and told a lot about the past and present life in Vietnam. It was a very good day.

Halong Bay, and motorcycle trip around Hoi An
Hotels in Cambodia were more basic than the rest of the trip and could be improved. Would not bother with Battambang as a stopover as there was nothing of interest their

Travelling in Vietnam - Hoi An in particular
Ratio of Driving to sites in Cambodia too high. Also there should have been a day in Bangkok at the end of the trip rather than just a final meal
Tour guides accompanying trip excellent

Angkor Wat- one of the places you have to see before you die
Hoi An-extraordinary beaches
Saigon- one of the most lively and at the same time inspiring city I have ever been to
Phnom Penh
Mekong Delta
I didn`t like the organisational part of our time in Vietnam, because I think that the qualification of our guide nhung Bui was very poor, including language skills.
The itinerary was ok, apart from most of the activities organised by Nhung Bui.
The problem occured only with the Vietnamese Guide Nhung Bui, the Cambodian Guide Sareth So was just excellent!
The Problems in Vietnam became already obvious at the group dinner on the first evening in Hanoi, when she left 3 group members in the restaurant, since she simply did not count the members of the group before taking them home. This is only one example of neglecting the basic knowledge of being a guide.

{Comment from The Adventure Company: We have contacted the tour operator to register the concerns about this particular tour leader.}
Motorbike ride in Vietnam [Hue] - this was an optional extra;
The whole trip was excellent
The itinerary was great - my only comment would be that the Vietnam guide did not give the group any time to absorb the atmosphere of some of the places we visited whereas our Cambodian guide did.
We visited Orphanage and had meals in various organisations which were involved in training disadvantaged children in order to give them a better start in life.
We had two group leaders - one in Vietnam and then a change for Cambodia. The Vietnam guide was very helpful and had a good knowledge of his country. My only comment would be that we would as a group have benefitted from some time to look at the sights on our own.
Our Cambodian guide was much younger but very good. He always listened to what we had to say and was happy to adapt the tour to suit the needs of the group.

Meeting likeminded travellers who enjoyed the true experience of an adventure holiday. The motorbike tour in Hue, the boat trip in Halong Bay & a visit to our leader's family home in Battambang were the particular highlights.
Too many temples in the space of 2 days in Cambodia. The weather was too hot to be out in the open for that amount of time.
The hotels in Vietnam were of a significantly higher standard than the ones in Cambodia.

So many! Kyaking in Halong Bay, motorbike ride in Hue, bike ride in Hoy An, Mekong river trip, Angkor Wat .......
Just right amount of travel
Hotel in Saigon not so good - no windows
Very much enjoyed the meal at Koto in Saigon and at project in Cambodia
Vietnam - young and still able to get even better (overall good)
Gambodia - excellent

Kayaking in Helong Bay, motorcycling in Hue, cycling round Hoi An, home cooked meal in Phnom Penh, the tree temple in Angor Wat.
[Least enjoyed] The stop over in Battambong: the 2 hour trip from the main road for a night is not worth it, it might be better to have longer there. Setting off earlier on the final day to travle to the border would've been better, to miss rush hour traffic in Bangkok - which was a nightmare!
A brilliant trip, well organised and great fun. Food and drink excellent, weather good, a great mix of culture, activities and relaxation in a unique environment.
Ching (Group leader in Vietnam) was fantastic - very knowledgeable, helpful and took time to make sure that everybody's likes were catered for.
