Arrive in Aswan, here the Nile runs deep and fast between granite rocks as the desert encroaches on the river. The population is a mix of Egyptians and Nubians.  You visit the high Dam an engineering feat built in the 1960s and gaze across Lake Nasser the huge reservoir which it created. By virtue of its position on the old caravan route Aswan has always been a trading centre. Visit the splendid temple of Kom Ombo which is uniquely dedicated to two gods, Haroeris (Horus the elder) and Sobek (the crocodile god).  Continue your journey to Luxor and have the afternoon for leisure time. Students during leisure time will be accompanied at all times by a tour school leader.There is plenty to discover in Luxor. Luxor Temple is located within the city centre itself and there are museums and a colourful souk nearby. The treasures of the East bank await you today, including the incredible Temple of Karnak.  Many architects and engineers contributed to Karnak’s construction, a task that spanned the reign of successive Pharaohs over a period of 1400 years. The highlights of its many wonders are the great hypostyle hall, which contains 134 huge columns, and the beautifully carved obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut.
