Sky 3D set to cover Great Migration

The Great Migration sees more than a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras travel en masse between the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya.

It is arguably the most breathtaking natural phenomenon on the planet and being able to see such a huge number of creatures roaming across the plains in the flesh is an unforgettable experience.

Catching a glimpse - as well as a few photographs - of the migration is seen as the Holy Grail for most wildlife enthusiasts and it is an undoubted highlight of any African safari.

People in the UK will soon be able to see what all the fuss is about, as Sky has announced details of a new show that follows the Great Migration.

Sky 3D will screen a documentary that looks at the epic journey made by the animals each year.

Not only will it track the wildebeest, zebras and gazelles that make the trip, it will also follow predators - such as lions, crocodiles and cheetahs - that prey on the migrating animals as they attempt to cross the border in search of better grazing.
