Head to the Footprints of Spain Festival in Havana
For such a relatively small island, Cuba has had an incredibly eventful history.
People who have taken Cuba holidays will be well aware that there is still a large Spanish influence in this part of the Caribbean.
Founded by Christopher Columbus in the 15th century, Cuba remained under Spanish rule until the conclusion of the Spanish-American War in 1898.
Even today, the official language of the country is Spanish and many of the nation's customs and traditions have a distinctively Hispanic feel.
Every April, Havana throws a huge party in honour of a different part of Spain and 2012 will be no different.
The Footprints of Spain Festival will see a number of top dance performances, live music, poetry readings, theatre productions and art exhibitions held to celebrate Cuba's links with the European country.
Concerts are generally put on by top Spanish musical artists and it is not uncommon to see the National Ballet of Spain showing off their considerable talents during the event.
