Fashion event highlights Peru's trendy status

Lima is building a strong reputation as a glamorous destination that is ideal for holidaymakers who like to sample the finer things in life.

The city is now seen as one of the most impressive gastronomic hotspots in South America and it is full of top class restaurants, many of which are run by some of the most talented and innovative chefs in the world.

It is not just its luxury eateries that are encouraging people to take Peru holidays, as the area is also widely regarded as a trendy place to visit.

According to Andina, Lima Fashion Week will attract more than 10,000 people to the Peruvian capital.

It is split into two main sections - the Peru Moda and Peru Gift Show - and both will run between April 26th and 28th.

Held at the Jockey Plaza Convention Centre, the shows will feature the latest products from designers across the country. Hundreds of high-profile buyers from fashion hubs such as the US, France and Italy will also be in attendance.
