Egypt holidays prove popular in 2012

a href="http://www.adventurecompany.co.uk/middle-east/egypt">Egypt holidays proved to be extremely popular in the first two months of 2012, new statistics released by the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) have revealed.

The figures showed that visitor numbers were up by nearly one-third when compared with the corresponding period in 2011.

Although the statistics were skewed by the political problems in the country at the start of last year, there is no doubt that adventure holidaymakers have been heading to the north African nation in their droves in the past few months.

One of the big advantages that Egypt has is a hot climate all year round. The beaches of Sharm el Sheikh are always inviting regardless of when you book your trip.

UNWTO also stated that international travel is up all around the world, as tourist arrivals grew by 5.7 per cent on a global scale.

Europe has been performing well, as visitor numbers rose by five per cent in the first two months of 2012.
