Avalanche on Mount Everest - Friday April 18 2014

On Friday April 18th at around 06:45 local time an Avalanche struck in an area known as the "popcorn field", just above Everest base camp at 5,800m (19,000ft).

We can confirm that no Adventure Company travellers were involved in the tragic event and all groups are safe and accounted for. At this stage all trips to Base Camp will continue to operate as normal and we will continue to monitor the situation through The Adventure Company's team on the ground and will update this information as required.

Our thoughts go out to all those involved.
