Zanzibar 'enchanting aspect of holiday to Tanzania'

Culture vultures heading away on a holiday to Tanzania should make sure a trip to Zanzibar is in their itinerary, if one correspondent's experiences are anything to go by.

Writing for the Sowetan, Gugu Sibiya recounted a "glorious" jaunt to the island and detailed what tourists could expect from their trip.

He said the region is filled with interesting attractions, including the Stonetown markets which offer trinkets such as sculptures and kangas.

"The crafts that adorn [the stalls] … left us breathless," Mr Sibiya said.

The commentator also revealed he enjoyed a number of "sumptuous" meals during his sojourn and danced his evenings away to traditional local music on the beaches.

His trip concluded with a gala dinner, which he said was "a fitting end to an enchanting week".

Adventure Company offers holidays to Tanzania with Zanzibar options, including the Island Extension add-on to the Rift Valley Safari.

Travellers will have the chance to visit the Stonetown market, along with opportunities to snorkel or swim in the sea.
