Family activity holidays news: Ten new nature reserves created in Cuba.

Travellers who are considering booking family activity holidays to Cuba may be interested to learn that ten new wildlife reserves have been created in the Latin American country.

Specialist with the nation's National Centre of Protected Areas Augusto de Jesus Martinez Zorrilla revealed the locations of the new reserves to Cuban news agency ACN.

The organisation noted that the step had been taken by the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers in order to safeguard ecosystems and areas of cultural and historic interest around the country.

Local flora and fauna will also be protected by the new measures. It means that there are now a total of 45 such environmental areas in Cuba.

Cienaga de Zapata in Matanzas, Los Caimanes in Villa Clara and La Mesura-Pilotos in Holguin were all declared as national parks by the new step.
