Egypt holidays 'are ideal for underwater activities'

Marketing and membership manager at the organisation Alison Dando cited the Red Sea as one of the best international locations for underwater adventure.

She pointed out that the north African destination is only a short flight away from the UK and can be reached within three to five hours.

"Within that short period of time ... you are on beautiful aqua marine coral reefs with fantastic marine life," Ms Dando remarked.

She explained that the larger shallow-water areas are a haven for sharks and turtles, adding: "It's a very popular destination."
