Popularity of Egypt holidays 'will grow in 2010'

The price comparison site forecast that the north African country will be one of the ten most-travelled to destinations in the next 12 months.

It explained that demand for Egypt holidays will be driven by price-conscious travellers, with the nation managing to stand out despite the fact that almost one-fifth of Britons are not planning to take a break next year.

"Brits hoping for a value getaway will look to destinations outside the eurozone," said the company's travel expert Bob Atkinson. He added that Egypt will continue to grow in popularity as long as the current weakness of the sterling versus the euro continues.
