Indian safari holiday named as world's best adventure activity

Travellers who are considering booking safari holidays may be keen to visit India, after the country was recognised as the location for the best adventure activity in the world.

An expert panel made up of travel correspondents, writers and explorers hailed wild tiger spotting in the Kanha National Park as the most exciting activity which travellers can experience.

Compiled for the Adventure Travel Live show, which is held in London between January 29th and 31st, the shortlist saw the sub-continent beat off competition from skiing down a volcano in Japan and trekking the three-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Guidebook writer and publisher Bryn Thomas hailed the opportunities presented to travellers on trips to the national park, saying: "You'll never get so close to a tiger in the wild."

Anyone keen to visit Kanha for themselves may wish to book onto The Adventure Company's Wildlife Safari trip, which includes a three-night stay at the park.
