Enjoy Lopud's 'untouched countryside' on family activity holidays

Anyone planning to spend their family activity holidays in Croatia this summer should make sure they head to the beach at Lopud.

Jon Bousfield, a travel columnist for The Telegraph, picked the island destination out as having one of the best sandy stretches on the whole of the sun-drenched Dalmatian Coast.

Unlike the majority of the beaches near the historic city of Dubrovnik, Lopud is a sandy island which is a real haven of peace and tranquillity.

However, there is still plenty to keep people entertained during their family activity holidays, including the chance to hike through what Mr Bousfield describes as the island's "blissfully untouched Mediterranean countryside".

The journalist noted that even the boat trip from the mainland is a treat, giving travellers the chance to take in "the stark beauty of the Adriatic coast".

Travellers eager to explore the island on their own family activity holidays should check out the details of The Adventure Company's Adriatic Adventure trip.
