Jordan 'is a hit with Hollywood'

Wadi Rum and Petra are not just popular with people on Jordan holidays - the attractions are a big hit with Hollywood film-makers.

In an article published by The Gulf Times, correspondent Abdullah Omar noted that a number of famous movies have used the famous lost city of Petra as their backdrop, including Indiana Jones and Lawrence of Arabia.

The kingdom's Royal Film Commission noted that many of the attributes which attract people to book Jordan holidays also make it an ideal film setting.

Nada Domani, a spokesperson for the body, said Jordan is "extremely rich in contrasting landscapes, despite its small size".

He added: "It boasts locations that are unique in the region and in the world, such as Petra and Wadi Rum."
