Holidays to Nepal news: Graduate 'determined' to climb Everest

A graduate has said he is determined to scale Everest during his next trekking holiday to Nepal.

Stephen Green had to abort his most recent attempt when two of his oxygen canisters ran out of air.

However, his disappointment quickly faded when he found two other stricken climbers on the way down, who he helped to rescue.

Once he had aided his fellow hikers, he then tried and failed to reach the top of the mountain again.

Mr Green said it was "really frustrating" not to reach the summit, but has vowed to return to the Himalayas a stronger man.

"It might sound crazy but I'm just determined to do it, that's why I made that second attempt after the rescue," he told the Scotsman.

Travellers who share Mr Green's thirst for adventure may wish to book onto the Everest Base Camp trip.

Although it does not go all the way to the summit, it still gives tourists the chance to soak up stunning views and meet local people during night stays in teahouses.
