Climate change campaigners plan Kilimanjaro trek
A Kilimanjaro trek will form part of a global peaks challenge for a group of climate change campaigners.
The nine-strong group of women, from Nepal, will attempt to scale a mountain on each of the world's continents.
Beginning with a climb up Mount Kosciuszko in Australia later this month, the team will attempt to summit Vinson Massif in Antartica, along with peaks in Europe, South America and North America.
The team, many of whom have already scaled Mount Everest, plan to offset their trip with eco projects in the Himalayas.
Team leader Shailee Basnet estimated that the trip will cost around $1.3 million (£864,000) and that the mission will be completed by the close of 2011.
