Enjoy family activity holidays in Croatia

Rafting and mountain biking are fun things to do on family activity holidays to Croatia.

Writing his regular column for the Guardian, Lonely Planet editor Tom Hall recommended going a little off the beaten track when visiting this stunningly beautiful nation.

He offered his advice in response to a query from reader Jo Hunter, who wanted suggestions where to visit on a holiday to Croatia.

Mr Hall said some of the smaller towns such are worth a look, while the country's second biggest city Split offers a "dash of history".

There are excellent rafting, cycling and hiking opportunities in Croatia, while Brela is perfect for a bit of rest and relaxation, he explained.

"[Brela] has one of the mainland's best stretches of pebbles," the columnist stated.

Those keen to discover Croatia for themselves should check out The Adventure Company's family activity holidays.

For example, the Croatian River Adventure Family Holiday offers the chance to raft along the Cetina River, go kayaking on the Vrilika River and ride a bike through numerous small villages.

Meanwhile, sea kayaking awaits travellers at Brela and there is a free day for personal discovery of the region.

We offer some exciting choices of family activity holidays for you to discover.
