Family activity holidays to Croatia 'filled with beautiful sights'

Those who go on a family activity holiday to Croatia are likely to be blown away by the country's beautiful landscape.

According to Lonely Planet travel editor Tom Hall, the eastern European nation is known for its spectacular rocky coastline and high density of forest.

He said that the destination has grown in popularity in recent years and that tourists are becoming more adventurous in the towns and cities they are checking out.

Where once a holiday to Croatia was usually focused on the capital Dubrovnik, now Zadar, Split and Rijeka are firmly on the radar, Mr Hall suggested.

"There is a good mix of history and activities with seaside scenery - and it is easy to get around by ferry or by bus," he remarked.

Those inspired by the travel expert's recommendations should check out the range of family activity holidays to Croatia offered by The Adventure Company.

For example, the Adriatic Adventure Family Holidays offer the chance to go sea kayaking and cycling in the Konavle Valley.

A walk around Dubrovnik's historic walls is also included on the itinerary.
