Bill Clinton reveals Kilimanjaro trek dreams

Bill Clinton has revealed it is one of his dreams to go on a Kilimanjaro trek.

The former US president, who left the White House in 2001, has put a holiday to Tanzania's highest peak on his to-do list as he enters his twilight years.

He made the revelation while speaking at the 18th International Aids Conference in Vienna, where he also discussed the other things he plans to do before he dies.

Some of the activities relate to Mr Clinton's family, such as becoming a grandfather, but others are a little more active and adventurous.

"I'd like to climb Kilimanjaro before the snows melt. I'd like to run a marathon before I give out. There's lots of things I'd like to do but it doesn't really matter whether I do them," he remarked.

Those who share Mr Clinton's goal of scaling Africa's highest peak can make dreams a reality by booking onto one of The Adventure Company's holidays to Tanzania.

The Kilimanjaro - Rongai Route trip is a gradual ascent which offers the chance to view wildlife, while the Machame and Marangu routes are a little more challenging.
