How long have you been leading trips for The Adventure Company:
About 2 years
What is your travel experience/background?
First of all I started working as a tour guide for about a year. After I finished my studies of tour guidance then I decided to become a tour leader too as I enjoyed it. As I trained as a guide this helped me to be a good leader because of the local knowledge that it gave me.
What is your favourite activity /event on the trips you lead?
Meeting people from different cultures with different ways of thinking. The best thing is that there has been good co-operation with the groups I have led.
In your mind, what is the best place to visit in your country?
The deserts and national parks because of their amazing contents
What is the funniest thing that has ever happened on a tour?
One of the canyons that we visit on this tour is called the Narrow Canyon and one of the guests got stuck in the middle! We had to push and pull her for about two hours to get her out!
In your mind, what is the most interesting custom in your country?
The great hospitality that we have and the sense of humour.
What is the best thing about your job?
Helping people to experience and understand tbe meaning of the desert and teaching them survival skills.
What is your life motto?
To enjoy other people's company.
In your mind, what are the most important items to pack for your tour?
Lightweight scarf, sunglasses and first aid kit.
What our customers have to say...
I thought Mido (our guide) was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and kind and wonderful with the kids. He really cares about the history of Egypt and managed to explain it with depth and colour. FQEG 15th Oct 2010
Mido was awesome. He went above and beyond and really anything we asked for he did. Even searched the markets for the special king Tut mummy my son was desperate for. He was amazing! FQEG 15th Oct 2010
The trip was made all the more enjoyable due to the passion and dedication of Mido, our guide. He looked after all our needs promptly, made us all laugh and gave us loads of information about the Egyptian culture and history. He has also made me come home wanting to be a better person due to his life values that he showed the whole time. Very inspiring. SI 26th Dec 2010
A superb trip leader - friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, organised and considerate. SI 26th Dec 2010
Took care of us all 110% percent. Always happy to go above & beyond the call of duty. Made a big positive impact on overall enjoyment of the trip. SI 26th Dec 2010
Our group leader, Mido, was the most inspiring person I have met. He has great passion, knowledge, life values, and always met the needs of the group even if it meant giving up something of his own e.g, he suffered being cold so that one of the group could be warm by giving them his own fleece. I had my birthday during the holiday and he provided me with a wonderful birthday cake and present. It made the day really special for me. SI 26th Dec 2010
