What is your favourite activity /event on the trips you lead?
School and village visits, living in and visiting the countryside and wildlife. To share the culture & customs of my Country.
What is the best thing about your job?
Meeting new people, travelling and showing our beautiful country to valuable guests.
What is the funniest thing that has ever happened on a tour?
We used to take a train from near Delhi (Rebari) on the NI trip. At 2am the train would stop at Loharu station and a tea vendor would call out “Chai chai”. One of the ladies woke up from the noise and she asked, “Is this normal?” and the chai wala replied, “This Loharu”. This was repeated a few times and the whole group was laughing and for the next few days. She still emails me that ‘is it normal’?
In your mind, what is the best place to visit in your country?
Difficult question, but the foothills of the Himilayas is one of the best places to visit.
In your mind, what is the most interesting custom in your country?
Hospitality, wherever you go everyone likes to invite you in to visit their home and to have a cup of chai (tea). Always greeting with Namaste and never calling any elderly person by thier name.
In your mind, what are the most important items to pack for your tour?
Torch, binoculars, first aid kit, knife, (bird book).
