What is your travel experience/background?

I worked as a tour operator from 2002 to 2004, and then was selected as a tour leader to work for The Adventure Company.

What is your favourite activity /event on the trips you lead?

The walk in the national park.

What is the best thing about your job?

Working with so many characters and nationalities.

In your mind, what is the best place to visit in your country?

Everyone should visit Kumarakom in Kerala.

In your mind, what is the most interesting custom in your country?

The  H.U.F ( The Hindu Undivided Family)

In your mind, what is the most important phrase to know?

Gods own country. Thats what Kerala is called.

In your mind, when is the best time to vist and why?

November, December and January, as its winter and green everywhere in Kerala and other parts of India.

In your mind, what are the most important items to pack for your tour?

Nowadays the most important things that should be packed are a head torch and all kinds of mossy stuff.

Our group leader Tony was an excellent guide.  He really thought about everyone in the group and really looked after our welfare and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed the trip, doing little extra's outside the schedule. (He even went shopping for us to get local foods, snacks so we didn't have to). He gave really good local advice and ensured that the group was safe. He was also fun, good company and really knew all the places & people we visited.
I stayed on for a few extra days and he arranged a local taxi pick up to the airport for me before I left - he called the hotel just before I was leaving to make sure the car was there and that all was OK and to wish me well. Couldn't have asked for a better guide & he really made the trip what it was.  TR 15JAN10

He was excellent, going beyond the call of duty. The quality of people in his position can make or break a holiday experience. It would be too much to expect that all group leaders were of the same quality, but based on this trip, I would gladly book another trip with The Adventure Company.  TR 05FEB10
