Hands On trips offer you the chance to lend a hand to a local project for a more enriching experience. You follow exciting itineraries and make the most of your stay. Plus, you have the chance to get involved with a worthy community or conservation project. You could monitor lions in South Africa, assist a class at a local school in Laos or stay with a local community in Thailand. Lend a hand, travel like a local. Get hands on.
Our Hands On adventures give much needed support to local projects as a part of our Responsible Travel policy. With donations from The Adventure Company Foundation and your hands on help in country, we are building a better future for many communities around the world.
Lend a hand on a wildlife project. You could assist Dr Dittus and his team of researchers at a primate conservation camp in Sri Lanka. Help out at a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica. Or monitor the movement of lions in the wilds of South Africa. Make your holiday matter.
Go green and help protect the environment on a Hands On adventure. You could live on the Galapagos Islands and help preserve the Enchanted Isles’ unique and fearless wildlife. Or roll your sleeves up and get involved in a building project. You could help maintain an orphanage in Vietnam or paint a classroom in Nepal.
Help out at a local community for a memorable holiday. You could immerse yourself in the real Thailand with a village homestay. Assist a teacher at a school in India. Learn about life in rural villages and try out basket making and weaving and have a go with the rice thresher.
Want to get hands on with the whole family? We offer fun projects for families, where you can learn about a whole new culture and really make a difference. Lend a hand (or many hands!) to conservation projects in Costa Rica and get a feel for family life in South East Asia.
Meet Dr Dittus. He is the inspirational researcher at the primate research camp deep in the Sri Lankan jungle. Join his team as you track monkeys, monitor their behaviour and learn about the effects of tourism. And how you make a difference.
Step into the land of smiles. Stay in a Thai Village in the mountains or along the beaches. Help with English lessons and games with children, learn Nipa palm roof weaving, plant in the community garden, fish on the beach and help haul in the catch. Be inspired.
Roll up your sleeves and get involved. Think you could help maintain a school for hearing and speech-impaired children? Based in the breathtaking village of Nuwakot high in the foothills, you could paint, decorate or help with repairs. Make someone’s day.
