Hello Alan
Yes, i am booked and ready to go !! NOT!
I decided to do this last week, just paid deposit and understand there may be a couple of groups going as very popular trek...
So i dont know if i will be on your particular one?
I am travelling solo and believe that the group is mainly made up of men - (where are all the women! - cant be back home cooking tea - as all the men are having fun climbing mountains!)
Just reading through the "fitness" element of it ... hopefully not an issue .... however never been this high before and therefore not experienced altitude sickness - so looking forward to that!
Debbie - South Coast
Hi both,
I'm also booked on this trip (and am female). I'm just back from the Inca Trail on the Classic Peru trip which was absolutely fantastic. I've also done 2 trips to Nepal with the Adventure Company.
Hi Jackie
Are you flying from Gatwick? I am not too sure do we meet up at the airport departure or arrivals, or even in Marrkesh?
I am just starting to get my head around what equipment/belongings i need to take, so that i can make sure i have everything.
You sound an experienced trekker - having done the Inca Trail. I must admit that is on my list of "must do's" so you will have to tell me all about it.
It looks like there are two groups on this day, so will be competitive i am sure!
Debbie
Hi Debbie. Yes, I'm flying from Gatwick. We'll get bright red luggage labels from the Adventure Company. I've arranged to meet people at the airport via this forum and just spotted labels in the past too. Happy to arrange to meet up if you prefer? I've never flown from Gatwick before though so don't really know the airport. The Inca Trail was amazing. I would definitely recommend it!! Jackie
Been booked on this since Last year - using it as a trek to raise for a charity and been bigging it up on facebook - www.facebook.com/toubkal13
I had heard that it was just 10 blokes - so they must be running two groups - thats good :)
hi all, just been transfered to 27 dec departure,so will be on the mountain at about the same time but maybe not same group.I climed toubkal in 2005 but in summer conditions so am looking forward to an altogether different challenge in the snow!
Hi all
I've just booked onto the trip leaving on 21st December. What are you all doing about crampons? Will you hire yours?
According to the reviews my boots are not crampon compatible. Am slightly concerned at getting new boots this late in the day.
Regards
Helen
I have pair of Grivel Monta Rosa - i will be taking a pair of plastic boots for the snow and just approach shoes / boots for the non snow element
i will be attempting toubkal on 27 dec and was wondering if anyone would have any idea of the amount of tips to give to the porters, guides, cooks etc.would like an idea so as to budget what cash to take into the mountains as most other things are included, thanks
