Hi,
Great to hear from someone else on the trip. I'm going with my brother Geoff. We've done a bit of hiking in the past but I think this is going to be a totally new experience. Did you get a chance to try walking in crampons in Wales? I've hiring crampons so I'm relying on them being delivered to the hotel we're staying at which I'm hoping will be fine but I'd be happier if I had them in my hands before I left!
We did much easier hike in the Atlas mountains a couple of years ago and I did the Inca Trail so I've experinced that sort of altitude at least but the snow, ice and temperature make it much more challenging I think. How about you two? Any experience of this sort of thing?
Ben
Wow, it sounds like you guys are much more experienced than us. This should be a breeze for you two!
Can't wait to find out who the 3rd couple are now.
We're on the AT801 flight out of Heathrow at 17:10, maybe we could meet up if we're on the same flight?
Hi Ben
Just joined the members forum.
I will be on the Toubkal trip 19/2 together with my partner, Andy.
We went up to North Wales last weekend for a bit of practise. It was suitably snowy !
Really looking forward to this trip.
Done anything like this before?
Nadine
Hi Ben
Andy and I did get some crampon practise in at Wales. Its only the third time I've used them but they give you a great feeling of security !! Andy and I have both done Kilimanjaro at seperate times. Apart from that I only have experience of Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell and the likes. Andy, on the other hand has climbed the Matterhorn, the Eiger, the Monch and a Himalayan peak. We are both doing Toubkal as a run up to Aconcagua next Jan.
I've found out that there are six of us in total on this trek so we should make a good team.
Nadine
I'm sure we are on the same flight so meeting up would be great. We will be easy to spot; mid-forties, holding hands and grinning like Cheshire cats!
