I am considering it... I have a place held for me at the moment, but I am not sure if I could keep up and I have never been mountain biking (I've not even been on a push bike for quite a while).

Just booked on... went to Croatia (Active Dalmatia) last year, it was brilliant. Met a group of likeminded people, many I’m still in frequent contact with.

Don’t worry about not keeping up. The idea of the holiday is to meet new people and have a laugh in the sun. In Croatia we had plenty of stops to regroup and take in the view.

See you there.

Thanks Stephen, I think it was the mountain biking that worried me a little, however I did confirm my place on the trip just after my last post...

I too went on a trip last year and met a group of fantastic people and we all keep in touch which is really cool.

I am quite excited about this trip, although I may have to get on a bike before I go :-) ha ha. But thanks it is good to chat to someone else about the trip before going. I'm liking the change to the itintery too (the zip wiring sounds fun).

I wasn't aware of a change to the itinerary ... What's out if Zip Wiring is in?

The only thing I didn't like about my solo trip to Croatia was the 4hrs of sitting in the airport without any company.

The Adventure Company don't seem to arrange a meeting point for the group flights in England, only when we are picked up abroad. It would be good if the group could arrange a meeting at Heathrow. Presumably we're flying from T5 as we're flying BA. Never flown from T5, so can't suggest anywhere to meet.

Anyone with experience of T5 have any suggestions? Maybe we could all display a common mark… a discreet tag on our hand luggage, maybe.

See you in September

The itinery change must have been just before you booked. It was meant to be just cycling in the mountains so the zip wiring will make a change.

I know what you mean about waiting at the airport, I thought that too. I live in Yorkshire so because the flight times are early morning I have to travel down the day before making my waiting even longer. I have booked into the travelodge near T5 the night before we fly. But yeah it would be good to arrange our own meeting at the airport for anyone that might come on here and see this... I'm happy to meet up with you even if no one else responds :-) be good to have someone to chat to!

The flight out is a bit early... I think we need to be at the airport for 4:30!
I'm thinking of getting the coach from Stansted, but not sure if they go that early, so I maybe staying the night myself.

Hi Matt, once you know your travel details, let us know! I am driving down to Heathrow even though it is far for me too, which is why I am staying in travelodge the night before! It would be good for a few of us to meet up :-)

As the Travel Lodge is fairly cheap (if booked this far in advance) I'd be up for meeting on the Saturday afternoon and start the holiday early.

I presume your booked into the Heathrow T5 Travel Lodge?

Does anybody have a contact number for the T5 traveldoge. I booked my room ages ago but must typed my email address in wrong. Now I cant even log on to the website as they have the wrong email and havent got a confirmation of booking but it does show up on my bank statement. The travelodeg webiste is useless. Its all FAQ and no contact numbers. Dont know if i should just turn up? I d prefer to confirm the booking.

P.S yes drinks in the bar!

Hi Matt, I had the same problem with my hotel booking with the travelodge. I thought I must have typed in my email address wrong. Luckily I took a screen shot of my booking/reference when I booked and have managed to use that to check my booking on their website even though I have no email confirmation. My booking is there and my email address shows incorrect, however I think they may have a system error as it shows my email address twice and both show the first letter after the @ missing from the address. I'm sure I wouldn't have typed it like that twice! I'm sure T5 travelodge should be able to confirm if you call them, but I would assume your booking is fine.

Hi everyone,

Posted the above comment over four months ago - can't believe how quickly the trip has come round, read the above comments and I'm both excited and quite nervous have to admit! This is the only trip I've been on where I don't know anybody before going. Sounds like you guys on here have a plan already - think it's a good idea to meet up at Heathrow, though I won't be there until Sunday morning.

Hello there 'Travelling Matt' (this could get confusing... ha ha). So you are the one who started this thread! Don't worry about going on a trip where you don't know anyone, it is all part of the fun getting to know new people, I know it can be nerve wrecking the first time you do it, but usually there will be a great bunch of people who are friendly. Feel free to meet us at the airport in the morning, at least that way there will be at least three of us who you will meet straight away :-)

Matt, definately still up for a drink when you arrive... I will also text you so you have my number too. We can start the holiday early :-)

Lol, yep I hold my hand up Liza, I'm the culprit, though I haven't shown myself on here a great deal - have to admit I totally forgot about it! I'm really looking forward to this trip, the activities look brilliant, especially the white water rafting and zip lining, love a bit of adrenaline. You're right that you meet really fun, friendly people on these kind of holidays, everyone just wants to have fun and relax, it's only really the unknown of going solo that can be nerve jangling. Can't believe how far some of you on here are travelling to get to the airport - Newcastle, Scotland and you from Yorkshire? I've got it easy only coming from humble Essex! I'd really like to meet you three at the airport if possible, are you getting there a couple of hours before the flight's due? My cab's booked for 4:30am to get me to Heathrow - should be enough time.................

Yeah i'm looking forward to the activities, I'm a snowboarder and bit of an adrenaline junkie myself...

Most of the flights with Adventure Co seem to go from Heathrow, my last trip did too, but it doesn't bother me having to travel and it has worked out quite well for meeting a few people before!

The travel docs say to check in at least 2 hours prior to departure, so yeah we should be there between 5:30-6:00... (Stephen/Matt hopefully this sounds about right to you?).

Liza...
I was thinking we had to be at Heathrow for 05:00-05:30! 1st bus leaves Travelodge at 05:00, think we should be on that one.
See you in the bar.

(Tavelling)Matt...
By the time we get off the coach in Andorra you'll be confused as to why you ever felt nervous about a solo holiday.

Matt(1122)...
Number stored in phone, I think I can manage to hang about int the bar until closing! After all I will officially be on holiday.

See you all next weekend!

Hi all,

Hi everyone,

Only a short time to go now!

Matt 122 - I'm dusting off my rucksack too, I suppose we'll have to start packing stuff pretty soon. Any tips on how to make 25kilos worth of luggage weigh 15kilos? :)

Liza1976 - I love a bit of an adrenaline rush myself, would love to try snow boarding. Maybe you can visit Andorra again when it's carpeted with snow?

Stephen7368 - you're right, am looking forward to it. It's great getting away from work for a week and having a totally different kind of holiday.

As for everyone else on here, look forward to meeting you all at the weekend! Wayne totally agree with you about the early start, I'll have to put some batteries in my alarm clock for once. Btw should we all wear something so we can spot each other easier at T5, badge or something?

Hi Matt, yeah would definately like to go to Andorra in the snow... maybe next time!

The red Adventure Company baggage tags are quite noticable, look out for them at check in area! I will have mine on my rucksac.

See you soon :-)
